Amy Yost

Principal

Mrs. Amy Yost joined the Cook Hill family in August 2022. Prior to joining the Wallingford School System, Mrs. Yost began her career in 1996 in Waterbury as a 5th Grade Teacher. She worked her way to Assistant Principal and Principal, and most recently, was a Principal in Shelton. Mrs. Yost is eager to work with the Cook Hill staff and families to promote learning through risk taking, inquiry and discovery in a school environment where students are accepted and see themselves as part of their school community. Open communication is key to building positive working relationships.

Mrs. Yost is an active member with Connecticut Association of Schools (CAS). She serves on a few CAS committees and boards - Board of Directors (Treasurer), Elementary Leadership Committee, CLI Committee Member and Advisory Committee Member for Look For the Good. Mrs. Yost lives with her husband Richard and three beautiful children, Jackson, Owen and Reese. When she is not at Cook Hill School, you can find her gardening, painting  and spending time with her family. Mrs. Yost shares the same belief of author Renata Bowers “Every child has a unique story and inherent worth, deserving of encouragement and support. Dream Big!”
