K-2 Students who are interested in community service and are of good character are eligible to participate. Kiwanis International is a worldwide service organization whose clubs serve children and develop youth leadership. Cook Hill K-Kids club meets once a month before school in our library. Community service projects include collecting socks and pajamas for Master's Manna, fundraising for the Sisters' Project, and collecting supplies for the Wallingford Animal Shelter.
Cougars Around the World
This year we will explore and honor different heritages each month. With “Cougars Around the World,” we honor and celebrate the vast cultural backgrounds our students and families bring to our school community. Cook Hill Cougars come from many different places around the world, speak many languages, and have unique traditions. We want to celebrate all these wonderful cultures and traditions!
We are currently collecting countries of origin and will be hanging the map in the coming weeks. Students will place a pin for their countries/states of origin and we will learn about the power of diversity and acceptance in our Cook Hill community. So far, we have over 40 countries of origin for our staff and students!
One or both of your child's countries/states of origin will be represented on our world map that hangs in our Multilingual Learner hallway. This map will be visible for all community members to enjoy so we can appreciate how global our Cook Hill community really is!
